The Gilroy Teachers Association (GTA) represents all full and part-time teachers, adult education, special education, pre-school, school counselors, psychologists, nurses,and academic coordinators in the Gilroy Unified School District. GTA is an affiliate of the California Teachers Association (CTA) and the National Education Association (NEA). We have been in existence since 1948.

The history of GTA is rich with assertive support for collective bargaining and members’ rights and professional training. The past is filled with both concerted actions and current constructive efforts with the District to improve conditions for teachers and students. GTA is very proud of providing an excellent contract, that includes strong safety language, class size overage pay, and a new evaluations process that provides for meaningful professional reflection for all new and veteran certificated staff in and out of the classroom.

There are numerous benefits of membership and many programs that GTA and CTA offer to help teachers succeed in their profession.

The GTA membership stands at approximately 500 in our 10,000 student district. We are located at our own office with plenty of parking at 8339 Church St. Ste.210.
